August Glossybox

In honour of the Olympics, Glossybox came out with an "International Box" featuring some of the world's best selling products. From Japan to Spain, Germany and even good old England, here are the products I found in my Glossybox, this month :

DHC Deep Cleansing Oil
I have been quite curious about cleansing oils lately, so I was thrilled to find this DHC Deep Cleansing Oil in my box, this month. After using it a couple of times, I can honestly say I am a convert! The oil managed to take all my makeup off, without leaving my skin feeling tight like so many other cleansers do. Result!

All For Eve Eve's Balm
Like many people suffering from dry skin, I always carry some sort of balm with me, whether it is to use on my lips, cuticles or any other dry patches I may have that day. The moisturising, yet non-greasy formula of this balm is perfect to use on the go, making it a handbag staple for me.

Alessandro Pro White Nail Polish
This is an "optically brightening effect nail polish with an anti-yellowing formula for radiant, white and gleaming nails". The product itself has a slight blue tint, making your nails appear whiter and healthier, perfect for days when you don't want to wear any colour on your nails.

Lipcote
If like me, you love a bold, statement lip but absolutely hate touching it up throughout the day, this is the product for you! Lipcote is a lipstick sealer, which promises long lasting and water resistant lipstick. It is so good, I haven't stopped using mine ever since I got it a few months ago, so this back up is a welcome addition to my collection.

Vera Valentini L'Ombre à Paupière Margarita
This eyeshadow palette comes with ten matte shades, ranging from earthy neutrals to luminous greens.  I don't own many matte eyeshadows so I was rather excited to see this in my box this month, but the excitement didn't last very long. The eyeshadows are chalky and the colour payoff very poor, making this palette completely useless... Next!

Glossybox Lipstick in Glossy Pink
This is now the second time Glossybox includes their own products in their boxes. This time, it is "a professional beauty lipstick for soft and glamorous lips with a luminous, long-lasting colour." If I like the formula, I cannot say the same about the colour. The fuchsia pink shade doesn't do anything for my complexion and I still find myself reaching for MAC Patisserie or Estée Lauder Crystal Baby lipstick most days. Sorry, Glossybox!

Glossybox is available for only £10 (+ P&P) a month, and will deliver five product miniatures for you to test at home, and thus every month. Already subscribed? What did you think of this month's Glossybox?

The Seasonal Switch Challenge : The Lace Dress

A few weeks ago, I was contacted by VoucherCodes.co.uk to take part in their "Seasonal Switch Challenge" - or how to take your favourite summer pieces and transition them into winter. In this three day mini series, I am showing you how to refresh your wardrobe for under £80 and incorporate some of A/W's hottest trends, using key pieces from the high street.

Today, I am showing how to take your lace mini dress, from summer...

Dress : H&M | Sandals : New Look | Clutch : Marc by Marc Jacobs

Necklace : House of Harlow | Leather bracelet : Alice by Temperley
Leather breaded and pyramid bracelet : H&M | Pyramid double wrap bracelet : Stella & Dot

... Into autumn / winter.

Dress, Floppy hat : H&M | Tights : New Look c/o VoucherCodes.co.uk
Shoes : New Look c/o VoucherCodes.co.uk | Daria bag : Mulberry | Nails : Nails Inc. Basil Street

Floppy Hat : H&M | Necklace : Turner & Leigh on Etsy | Aurora Ring : Stella & Dot

Daria bag : Mulberry | Aurora Cocktail Ring : Stella & Dot | Wrap bracelet : Primark

We are all guilty of neglecting our little summer dresses as soon as the winter gets colder. But it doesn't have to be that way! Here, I paired my nude lace dress with some woollen burgundy tights (£5.99) and matching pumps (£19.99), for a romantic, yet somewhat vampy look. This particular shade was all over the A/W12 catwalks, including Prada's, Gucci's and Christopher Kayne's, so adding a touch of purple, aubergine or burgundy is an easy and trendy way to update your wardrobe for autumn / winter.

This posts marks the end of the Seasonal Switch series. I hope you liked it! Let me know how you'd update your wardrobe for the colder months.

The Seasonal Switch Challenge : The Coloured Jeans

A few weeks ago, I was contacted by VoucherCodes.co.uk to take part in their "Seasonal Switch Challenge" - or how to take your favourite summer pieces and transition them into winter. In this three day mini series, I am going to show you how to refresh your wardrobe for under £80 and incorporate some of A/W's hottest trends, using key pieces from the high street.

Today, I showing how to take your coloured skinny jeans, from summer...

Jeans, top and clutch : H&M | Shoes : c/o Nelly

Pink and blue wrap bracelets : Primark | Rose gold Tillie bracelet : Mulberry
Beaded bracelets : H&M | Spike bracelet : Asos | Watch : Fossil c/o WatchCo.com | Mint Green enamel bracelet : H&M

... Into autumn / winter.

Jeans, necklace : H&M | Jumper : H&M c/o VoucherCodes.co.uk | Shoes : Topshop
 Scarf : Primark c/o VoucherCodes.co.uk | Clutch : Primark
Lips : Sleek Papaya Punch lipstick | Nails : Nails Inc. Basil Street

Necklace : H&M | Neon chain bracelet : Marc by Marc Jacobs
Luxor bracelet : c/o Stella & Dot | Watch : Michael Kors

Mint green, pastel pink, neon coral or even bright blue, coloured denim was everywhere, this summer. But just because the weather gets colder doesn't mean you have to put your favourite pair of jeans away at the back of your wardrobe. To take my pink skinnies into winter, I simply paired them with a knitted jumper (£14.99) and a big printed scarf (£6.00). Soft, neutral, earthy shades are a great way to ease your summer brights into winter, without having to say goodbye to your beloved pastel and neon shades - something I am not ready to do just yet!

Stay tuned for another Seasonal Switch post tomorrow! How are you going to transition your summer clothes into autumn / winter?

The Seasonal Switch Challenge : The Printed Skirt

A few weeks ago, I was contacted by VoucherCodes.co.uk to take part in their "Seasonal Switch Challenge" - or how to take your favourite summer pieces and transition them into winter. In this three day mini series, I am going to show you how to refresh your wardrobe for under £80 and incorporate some of A/W's hottest trends, using key pieces from the high street.

Today, I am taking my favourite printed mini skirt, from summer...

Skirt : Zara | Top : New Look | Bag, ring and necklace : H&M | Shoes : French market |  Belt : Primark
Sunglasses : Ray-Ban | Lips : L'Oréal Rouge Caresse in Dating Coral | Nails : Nails Inc. Basil Street

Bag, ring and necklace : H&M | Watch : Michael Kors
Luxor and Emerson bracelet : c/o Stella & Dot

... Into autumn / winter .

Skirt and bag : Zara | Top : H&M | Jacket : H&M c/o VoucherCodes.co.uk
Shoes : Jeffrey Campbell (99 Zip Wedges) | Tights : Primark

Necklace : Accessorize | Ring : H&M

Prints were one of this summer's biggest trends and it only takes a trip down the high street to see that they are here to stay, so why should you part with your favourite printed pieces after all? To make my printed mini skirt a little bit more appropriate for the cold weather, I simply added a pair of black tights and a biker pleather jacket (£29.99), giving the girly garment an edgy, urban twist, à la Alexander Wang A/W12-13.

Stay tuned for another Seasonal Switch post tomorrow! How are you going to transition your summer clothes into autumn / winter?

Wanna (Arm) Party?

If you follow me on Instagram, you will know I often post pictures of what I am wearing on my wrist, which is most commonly known as "arm candy" or "arm party". I absolutely love stacking up bracelets and bangles, and when you have a collection as extensive as mine, the possibilities are endless! Here are a few of my favourite combinations, as well as some pieces I have been lusting after.

(Don't forget to click on the images to see the full-size version.)

Mixed Metals
I have never been one to stick to the rules, especially when it comes to fashion, so it should come to no surprise that I love mixing metals. Gold, silver, rose gold, hematite... Mix, match and have fun with it!

3. All H&M

What I wouldn't mind adding to my stash :

Watch, Pavé Curb Link bracelet : Michael Kors | Rose gold Figi bracelet : Monica Vinader
Classic pavé link bracelet : J Crew | Engraved Triangle bangle set : House of Harlow
Stretch bracelet : Topshop | Robyn bracelet, Sidwinder bracelet : Stella & Dot

Arm Candy, with an Edge
If I often wear girly outfits, I also love toughening them up with some jewellery. Leather, skulls, studs, spikes... You name it, chances are, it is already on my wrist!

3. Primark, Stella & Dot

What I wouldn't mind adding to my stash :

Aztec bangle with black leather : House of Harlow | Collier de Chien cuff : Hermès | Pyramide
Stud bracelet : Forever 21 | Skull bangles : Alexander McQueen  | Bayswater bracelet : Mulberry
Serpent bangle : Stella & Dot

Colourful Wrists
Neons and bright colours have been everywhere this season : from the catwalk to the glossy pages of our favourite magazines. Obviously, it was only a matter of time until my arm party got a little brighter!

2. H&M, Marc by Marc Jacobs, H&M, Primark

What I wouldn't mind adding to my stash :
Eleanor bangle, Lindsay bangles and Renegade Cluster bracelet : Stella & Dot | Saffiano Logo wrap bracelet : Tory Burch | A Penny for your Thoughs bracelet : Kate Spade New York
Clic Clac H bracelet : Hermès

What are your favourite brands and combinations? As you can see, I've fallen in love with Stella & Dot jewellery, especially their bracelets. My sister is having a trunk show next month and I can't wait to add to my collection! Though I'm not sure what to get yet... What would you choose?

July Glossybox

This month, Glossybox is celebrating everything summery and the season's biggest events, festivals of course! Here is what I found in my box :

Awapuhi Wild Ginger Texturising Sea Spray
I have very straight hair, so it came to no surprise to see that this product didn't give me the perfect beach waves I have always dreamed of. However, it did give me a lot of body and texture, something I have been lacking ever since I left the French Riviera for the U.K. The fact that it smells heavenly is also one of the reasons why I absolutely love this product!

Monu Extra Rich Night CreamThis rich night cream is aimed towards very dry, dehydrated skin, which is exactly what I have so I was very happy to find a sample of this in my Glossybox this month. It is filled with royal jelly, primrose oil, vitamins A and E and essential oils to give your skin a fresh and youthful look. If it is probably not going to replace my favourite night cream any time soon (but more on that later), I would happily take this smaller tube with me on holiday.

Jelly Pong Pong Irish Cream Pavlova Lip Frosting
Makeup that smells like dessert? Needless to say, I love it! Not only is the packaging really cute, the product itself is amazing. It is a glossy, bright pink lip tint, perfect for summer and the festival season.

Colin Resultime Regenerating Collagen Gel
This collagen gel contains 15 key skin molecules which are meant to regenerate your skin. Sounds promising, doesn't it? Well, to be completely honest, I haven't noticed any change in my skin since I started using this product, but it may work a little bit better on more mature skins.

Kryolan Satin Powder Here is what Glossybox has to say about this product : "This micro-fine powder will create extraordinary shimmer effect eye makeup." And indeed, the powder is so fine and buttery, it melts into your skin, giving it an amazing sheen. I received the shade SP 333, a bright coral which would look amazing with a tan, so perfect if you are going on holiday or to festival such as Outlook or Benicassim.

Bonus Product : Elizabeth Arden's Visible Difference Skin Balancing line
This Visible Difference sample set came with a Skin Balancing Exfoliating Cleanser, an Optimizing Skin Serum and a Skin Balancing Lotion. The range is aimed at Combination skin, which I do not have, but I have always loved Elizabeth Arden's skincare so I may give it a go if my skin ever feels oilier than usual.

Glossybox is available for only £10 (+ P&P) a month, and will deliver five product miniatures for you to test at home, and thus every month. Already subscribed? What did you think of this month's Glossybox? I really liked mine, even though I would have much preferred to get the Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse as it is one of my favourite products and could have used the sample-sized bottle.
