Bat Those Lashes, Girl - A LiLash Review

Yes, that's right. Today's post is going to be a little different from usual. It's a review. As a blogger, I do receive a fair amount of products to review, but I only ever feature products I truly believe in. This is the case with LiLash, a serum which promise to make your lashes longer and thicker in just 12 weeks. The idea is that you apply the product at the base of your lashes every night for three months. It's so quick and easy, I had absolutely no problem fitting this in my night routine. The lovely people over at LiLash also sent me a tube of their famous eyebrow serum, LiBrow for me to test out as well.

Now, let's talk a little bit more about what we're starting with here, shall we? You know how some girls have "nipple confidence" and can happily go out without a bra on? Well, I'm assuming some people feel the same about their eyelashes and can happily go out without wearing any mascara. My friend Anaïs for instance, has never ever bought a single tube of the stuff - not that you could tell from looking at her long, thick lashes. I was never one of those girls. My lashes are naturally thin, straight and somewhat short and stumpy.  As for my brows, they have always been full enough, albeit a little bit short at the tail for my taste, but nothing a good eyebrow pencil could not solve.

BEFORE
I first started using the serums in the summer. I had gone a little bit tweezer-happy and was left with a painfully obvious mis-matched pair of eyebrows. As for my lashes, they were still as straight as ever, much to my despair. After only a couple of weeks, I started noticing a difference in my lashes. They were not so much thicker, or longer - yet! -, but they weren't so straight anymore. If using an eyelash curler was a waste of my time before, my new LiLash-ed up lashes were a lot easier to curl and would actually hold that curl all day, which made my eyes look more open and  tricked people into thinking my lashes were significantly longer.

This is when I had a terrible allergic reaction on my skin. This had absolutely nothing to do with LiLash, but the skin on my face and around my eyes was left so sensitive, I had to stop the treatment for a few weeks. I don't know if this had any consequences on the final result, but I imagine the serums would work even better when used continuously.

After this cleared up, I started using both products religiously again, applying them every night before going to bed. Two months later, this is the result :

AFTER

If my lash transformation isn't quite as dramatic as others I've seen on the internet, I am still very happy with the result. My lashes are significantly longer and the fact they now curl up all by themselves is nothing short of a miracle considering one of my corner lashes was genuinely growing downwards before! It's made a huge difference to how my eyes look and how confident I feel. I can now rock a cat-eye liner without feeling like my flick doesn't match my lashes or even better, I can just pop a little bit of mascara on and be good to go! And do I even need to say how much easier it is to now blend my natural lashes with falsies? I'm seriously happy with the results and I only wish I had more product left to get me through the party season!

As for my eyebrows, they were in pretty bad shape after that tweezer incident - seriously girls, never pluck your brows in bad lighting. You will always regret it. The results took a lot longer to be seen, mainly because my brows are naturally quite full and didn't need much work except for that unfortunate bald patch I had created. After 12 weeks, I can happily say my brows have returned to their former glory and if they're still not exactly twins, they are definitely sisters rather than distant relatives now. In fact, I haven't been this happy with my brows in years!

Would I spend my own money on these products? Most definitely! LiLash is a real game changer for me and I think every girl needs a tube of LiBrow in their beauty drawers, just in case of emergency. No one is safe from a brow incident, believe me.

Get your own tubes of LiLash and LiBrow here if you don't believe me. You'll thank me later!

Have you ever tried lash serums? Did you like them?

  2. I've never heard of LilLash before. I've looked at lash serums but never tried them. I have really long lashes already but after constantly wearing false ones I hardly have any. I'll have to look into LilLash.
