Travel Essentials + Tips & Tricks

Ciao a tutti! I'm off to Italy in a few hours and it got me thinking about my best tips and tricks when it comes to travelling and packing for a trip like this. After years of travelling back and forth between the UK and France, you best believe I have this thing down, so today I thought I'd share with you my top 3 travel tips and tricks, as well as some of my all-time essentials :

Backpack : Kasperi at Waremakers | Camera : Olympus PEN epl-7 | Passport holder : A l'aise at Waremakers | Earphone organiser : Ham / Lerche at Waremakers | Pimple patches : CosRX | Face masks :  Nuxe Masque Crème Fraîche de Beauté, LaNeige Sleeping Pack capsules | Face mist : Clinique

1. Stay organised

This goes without saying, but make sure everything has its own place in your carry-on. That way, you won't have to empty the whole content of your bag to find your passport or your boarding pass. I'm a huge fan of using a passport cover or a travel wallet to keep all my documents together, but I also like to use different pouches for cables and beauty products. I also always make sure to bring an extra document holder for all my receipts and tax-free shopping paperworks. It may sound a bit extra, but it  really makes the whole tax refund process a lot easier if you keep everything in one place.

2. Invest in a good backpack.

Most airlines - yes, even the cheaper ones - now allow you to carry both a small cabine-size suitcase, as well as a handbag. The catch? There's a chance your suitcase might have to be put in the hold, so do yourself a favour and invest in a great backpack so even if you're separated from your suitcase, you can keep all your electronics and other travel essentials on hand. I personally love this one by Kasperi at Waremakers. It's stylish, not too bulky but is roomy enough to have a compartment for your laptop, which is a must-have in my books.

3. Pack the right skincare

Travelling can really take a toll on your skin, especially if you're flying. Some people swear by sheet masking while in the air, but I'm personally a big fan of sleeping masks, like the Nuxe Masque Crème Fraîche de Beauté or the La Neige Sleeping Pack capsules. They still keep your skin hydrated, while also creating a thin barrier against the harsh pressured air. And let's face it, it's a lot less embarrassing to wear in public than a sheet mask. I also always make sure I have a hydrating face mist on hand, as well as some of my CosRX Pimple Patches just in case. But then again, I usually make sure I take those with me everywhere. Ha!

What are your go-to travel tips and tricks?
