What's in my Clutch Bag?

Don't you just hate carrying a large, everyday bag on a night out? I personally do, so when I went out last week to celebrate my Cosmopolitan Blog Award nomination, I turned to my extensive collection of clutches and eventually opted for this Mulberry one. It is very important to pair down to the essentials when using a clutch, especially if it is as small as this one, so I thought I would share with you my tips  on how to pack the perfect clutch bag :

Card Holder - Carrying a full-size wallet is probably not the best way to maximise your space. Instead, why not opt for a card holder? It is a lot smaller and still holds all your essentials in one place. I usually keep my Oyster card, my debit card and some cab money in mine.

Phone - This is pretty self explanatory. Whether it is to call a cab or find your friends in the club, chances are, you will need your phone.

Passport or any form of ID - You will need it to get in or order any drinks. If like me, you are not from the U.K., I'd highly recommend you take your passport with you. Believe me, I have been turned down from clubs and bars before because my French ID was not considered a "valid form of identification". Better be safe than sorry!

Camera - How else are you expecting to document the night? Believe me, everyone will love looking at the pictures the next day.

Makeup - A girl has to bring a few products to touch up throughout the night, right? That being said, I only ever carry the strict minimum, that is whatever lip products I am wearing that night, some pressed powder and a perfume sample to refresh myself. If I am going for a full-on smokey eye look, I also carry any pencil eyeliner I used on my waterline.

What do you usually carry in your clutch bag?

If We Took a Holiday

Looking through the window, you would never guess it is summer. This typically British weather has got me dreaming of a holiday and something even more exciting... My dream holiday wardrobe of course!

I am a firm believer in mixing high street basics with designer staples, for a fresher and more achievable look. This is exactly what I did here, with the help of farfetch.com and its amazing designer accessory selection. Plus, it wouldn't be called a dream holiday wardrobe if you already had everything in your closet, right?

What I would wear to... The airport

Louis Vuitton suitcase Converse shoes H&M shorts Uniqlo T-shirt

Comfort is key when flying, but it doesn't mean your outfit has to be boring. Spice things up with a pop of colour and some small pieces of jewellery, such as this Tobias Wistisen skull bracelet. Don’t worry, the designer suitcase is optional.

What I would wear to... Explore the city

River Island skirt H&M shirt | Chloé sandals YSL "Roady" bag | Ray-Ban aviator sunglasses

I absolutely love the look of chunky gold jewellery when on holiday. Not only does it make even the simplest outfit stand out, it also enhances your natural tan nicely. Finish off the look with a pair of Ray-Bans and a large handbag, perfect to fit all the bits and bobs you will most likely buy that day.

What I would wear to... Grab cocktails with the girls

Getting cocktails with your girlfriends is the perfect excuse to dress up on holiday. After a day spent by the pool, it feels wonderful to just pamper yourself, slip on a sparkly little number and wear your favourite accessories to hit the many seafront bars.

What I would wear to... The pool
H&M bikini & beach towel | Zagliani iPad case

Leather bracelets make for the perfect beach or pool accessories, as they are often water-resistant and add a little extra to your outfit - if you can even call a bikini an outfit.

What I would wear to... Hit the club

This dress might not scream "night out" to you, but you would be amazed to see what the right jewellery and accessories can do to an outfit. Here, I opted for touches of black leather, gold chains and studs to toughen up this otherwise very girly dress and voilà, the perfect outfit to dance the night away.

What would you pack in your dream holiday wardrobe?
